We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved, Michael Vernon Keels, 49, has passed on October 13, 2017. He went peacefully at home his ten-month struggle with cancer. Michael was born August 8, 1968 at Edmore Hospital. He attended Montabella Community Schools. He married Cindy S. Bellmer in 1994 and together they adopted a daughter September 19, 1999. They divorced in 2001. He was due to remarry fiancé, Amber L. Balley, 36, in September 2018. She has one son, Lucas A. Clendennin, 10. Michael Enjoyed walking his dog, Maxx and riding his bike. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love for camping, cookouts, hunting, and fishing. There are no words to express the depths to which he will be missed.
Michael is survived by his mother Joyce R.A. Keels, 75, father Patri A. Keels, 82. His daughter Ella Jo Keels, 18, brother, Patri A. Keels, 55, and sister-in-law, Linda K. Keels, sisters; Machelle E.M. Keels (Dave R. Jenkins), Crissie J. Thorn. 39, brother-in-law Jason O. Thorn, nieces; Diana Yates, 48, Destiny Branson, 25, Shayla Lewis, 17, great-nieces; Rachael Burg, 24, Cierra Keels, 10, Isabella Harvey, 8, nephews Ryan Keels, 32, Damian Jenkins, 24, Dylan Lewis 19, great-nephews Gavin Keels, 8, Brayden Keels, 6. Michael is also survived by many more dear cousins, other relatives, and countless friends.
Michael is proceeded in death by maternal grandparents, Vernice M. and Charles A. Manning. His paternal grandparents were Vernon and Elenor Keels, uncles; Merlyn C. Manning, Allen Jay Manning, Marshall Keels, and Gordon Keels.
A memorial service will be held at the Edmore Full Gospel Church on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2pm. The address is 302 Gilson St. Edmore. MI, 48829. Thank you in advance for any memorial donations that may be made payable to his mother Joyce Keels.
