Obituary

Kayla June King, age 51, passed away Wednesday morning, April 12, 2017 at home with her family. Kayla was born on February 23, 1966 the daughter of Myron “Jim” and Shirley (Getts) King.

Kayla was God’s greatest blessing to her family. Even though she had health problems her entire life she didn’t let that stop her from loving life and making the best of it. Kayla’s life was different but very unique and was an amazing journey. She loved watching wrestling; the Undertaker was her favorite. Kayla had a great sense of humor; she loved to tease and make up nicknames for her family. Kayla enjoyed listening to rock and roll music. She hated the weather man. Kayla loved Christmas but hated the snow that came along with it. Kayla was loved by all who had the chance to meet her. She will be dearly missed.

Kayla is survived by her loving parents; Jim and Shirley King, siblings; Debora (Tony) Beemer, James King, Beverly Eller, Kelly King and Carla King, 12 nieces and 4 nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Kayla was preceded in death by her grandparents; Russel King and Doris King-Gilliam and Ralph and Pricilla Getts and several aunt and uncles.

In keeping with Kayla’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is being planned for April 22, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at the family’s home, 2550 N. Douglas Rd., Riverdale, MI  48877. With a luncheon to follow the service. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider the “Wishes of the King Family”. Kayla was a wonderful loving person. My fondness memory is she loved my brother Gary. She may not of seen him offend but when she did she'd get real happy and hug him and say that's my Gary. She always put a smile on your face. Rest in peace and in the arms of Jesus Kayla. Love Shelly

It has been many years since I have seen Aunt Kayla. I have so many good memories of her and it is so right everyone she met just loved her. She sure did love life, I remember her always watching wrestling, she would get so mad, it was hard not to laugh. I remember as a kid we would ride her bike and she would fuss to grandma because we wouldn't give it back. I remember her brushing my hair for hours. She sure did live life to the fullest despite her disabilities.

I have so many memories of Kayla she always used to call me Shorty even though she was shorter than me .
I remember her and Kevin and Caleb talking about wrestling at several family reunions .
She always had a hug for you and a smile on her face .
She sure loved her mom and dad with every ounce of her being and she worried about them as well .
She could always take a joke and she loved to tease everyone especially her brother Kelly .
I believe God gives everyone a gift and Kayla's gift was the gift of laughter .
Rest tight in the arms of Jesus Kayla you will definitely be missed by all especially your loving mom and dad my condolences go out to you Uncle Jim and aunt Shirley I love you both so much❤️😪
