Otto Raymond Hey

Obituary

Lakeview – Otto Raymond Hey, age 49, of Stanton, passed away unexpectedly, on October 13, 2016, at his home. Otto was born October 25, 1966 in Alma, Michigan, the son of Otto “Dale” and Sharon (McConkie) Hey. He was raised in Stanton on the family farm and graduated from Lakeview High School Class of 1984, where he participated in FFA. Otto then attended Michigan State University for two years completing the Ag Program.

He was self employed working on the farm and part owner of Dale Hey and Son Trucking in Lakeview.  He really enjoyed working beside his dad. Otto and his dad never had an argument while they worked, and lived, shoulder to shoulder. They had a lot of discussions and agreed to disagree, and all went well. His other hobbies included flying, antique tractors, spending time with family, especially his Grandmother Hey – watching movies while Grandma slept in her chair.

Otto will be deeply missed by his father Otto “Dale” Hey (friend - Jennie Moody) of Stanton; mother Sharon Hey (friend - Gordon Kovach) of Alma; sister Sherri (Terry) Keilholtz; grandmother Vivian Hey of Stanton; nephews Tyler and Dakota Keilholtz; aunts and uncles, Joyce (Richard) Hamilton, Cheryl (Mike) Hadley, Shirley (Laurence) Reed, Emma McConkie, Joan (Jack) Vaughn, Judy (Elton) Henderson, Brenda (Dan) Shuler, James (Dawn) McConkie; and many cousins and friends.

Otto was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory “Greg” Hey, his grandfather Otto William Hey; and grandparents Lela and Raymond McConkie; uncles Albert and Robert McConkie.

Funeral services for Otto will be on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Michigan with Pastor Bruce Craner and Reverend Eugene Kooi officiating. Visitation for Otto will be Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday one hour prior the funeral. A luncheon will be at Entrican Township Hall following burial in Entrican’s Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute in Otto’s memory are asked to consider the American Heart Association, college fund of nephews, or charity of choice.

So saddened to hear of Otto's passing. I often ran into him in Lakeview and Six Lakes, most recently during the 4h of July holiday. We chatted for a very long time about life in general. Now, I'm
very grateful we took the time to hang out and catch up on life.
To Sharon (I love and miss you), Dale, and Sherry.... My heart breaks for you as you lay another son (brother) to rest. Sometimes I don't understand God's divine plan, but I do smile knowing the
    brothers are together again.
My heartfelt sympathies to all of you.
