Ed was born August 28, 1949 in Lakeview, the son of J. Arlene Powell and Russell Powell and grew up in Coral. Ed was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the Army 2/1 Cavalry. He also loved to go to Trufant Flea Market, yard sales, and tinker with solar energy. He was with and married to the love of his life, Elana Lee for 30 years.

Ed will be missed by his wife, Elana Powell; children Edward (Linda) Powell, Sally (Ed) Nieto, Janette (Tom) Boden, Cory Powell, and Michelle (Michael) Wilcox; 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; father-in-law John (Sherry) Fox and Bradley and Bethany and families; and two very special pets Jasmine and AJ.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Arlene Powell.

Much love to you and your family! Prayers and lots of hugs! Know that you will be together again some day! "You don't really die until everyone who ever remembered you dies too." I kind of like the
way that made me feel after my dad died, like we can all wait for each other and go together. ❤️😇 Love you guys! Thinking of you all!

Elana, so speechless, life seems so unfair sometimes, but we know there is an ultimate plan even though we cannot understand the Why's, we would not be human if we didn't ask or wonder Why. But How
awesome that you found and spend years with the love of your life, many people never find theirs. I pray the Lord gives you strength as you deal with everything that comes with your loss of your
    love.
    Love you, my friend!

Ed became part of our Kokomo family a few years back. He was kind and we had the pleasure of sharing meals with him at the tent. Hughie always made share to go look for Ed and Oakie to make sure they
made it to the tent. We send to Eds family our deepest sympathy. We will never forget Ed and he will be missed. Rest in Peace brother.... Hugh and Marisa Roberts

  • Lonnie and cousin Mary (Gage) Morden (Tuesday, June 07 16 09:56 pm EDT)

So sorry to hear late of Ed's passing I am not surprised we missed hearing of it since he always wanted to keep things on the down-low and not draw attention to himself. We know he is content where he
is ....we know the grandpa's and grandma's,aunts and uncles who welcomed him home might have thrown a parade in his honor - the one he didn;t get 40 some years ago. If we had known earlier some of us
would have come for the service
