Ivan H. Woodrow

           Ivan Harold Woodrow, age 79 passed away October 11, 2016 at Schneep’s Senior Care in Alma, MI. He was born on March 16, 1937 in Edmore, Michigan the son of Ralph “Harold” and Mildred Woodrow. Ivan graduated in 1955 from Edmore High School. He was an active member of Ferris Church of Christ, Edmore, and Vestaburg Seniors where he was president for many years.

After moving to Edmore in 1987 got involved in the Edmore Area Chamber of Commerce, Michigan State Potato Festival where he held various office positions. He was a life member of the Montcalm Heritage Village, where he was the grounds maintenance and also a tour guide. Ivan was a member of the Montcalm Commission of Aging Advisory Board, where he held office positions, Montcalm Senior Fest Committee, Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, Entrican Gleaners, and Central Michigan Area Men’s Fellowship. He was instrumental in starting up the Edmore Area Transportation at no cost to senior events, such as Friendship Meals, Pot Luck Dinners as well as other special events for them. Ivan also enjoyed doing genealogy on his parents ancestors. He was also helpful at the various Jamborees helping set up and running the sound systems both Country and Gospel Jamborees at various places.

Ivan is survived by his brother, Wayne (Nina) Woodrow; nephews, Charles Olson, Garry Woodrow, Larry (Kris) Woodrow and Steven (Lisa) Woodrow; nieces, Cindy Olson and Carla (Tom) Luscher; 11 great-nieces; 5 great-nephews; 3 great-great nieces and 3 great-great-nephews;  as well as many cousins. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Woodrow and sister Connie Hollister.

Funeral service will take place Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00PM from Ferris Church of Christ in Vestaburg, Michigan with Pastor Josh Rude to officiate. Visitation will also take place Saturday at the church from 12 Noon until the time of the service. Interment to follow in McBride Cemetery.
