Richard S. Thompson
Mr. Richard S. Thompson, age 80, of Lakeview, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Metron of Greenville. He was born May 25, 1934 in Fife Lake to Herman and Dorothy (DeBishop) Thompson.
Richard served our country honorably in the Army from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. On April 8, 1995, he married Grace M. Phillips. Richard enjoyed working on cars; fishing and hunting and animal and bird watching.
Surviving are his wife, Grace; children: Steven Thompson of Kentucky, William “Billy” Thompson of Beaverton, Tony (Carol) Thompson of Midland, Janice (Bruce) Piepers of Colorado, Betty (Orville) Layman of Missouri, Linda (Rich) Cobb of Midland, Tina Thompson of Rhondes, Edna Gray of Midland, and Shandell Heffron of Lakeview; 28 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents - Herman Thompson of Freeland and Dorothy DeBishop of Saginaw, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Robert and Bert; and his stepson, Roger Heffron.
A Funeral Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel, 9977 W. Howard City-Edmore Road, Lakeview. Interment in Cato Township Cemetery.
