Nina Bernice Cole
Nina Bernice Cole, age 79, of McBride slipped into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Nina was born on July 22, 1934 in Belding, Michigan, the daughter of Milo and Albina (Ball) VanConant. She was raised in the Belding area and was a graduate of the Belding High School.
Nina served in the United States Marine Corps from August of 1952 to February of 1954 stationed in Paris Island, North Carolina. As a homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting, studying the Bible, watching movies, playing Bingo, listening to music, singing and playing games. Nina was a member of the Edmore Full Gospel Church.
Nina is survived by her children: Vickie McGinnis of Orlando, Florida, Tina Allen of Coral, Steve (Laurie) Cole of Howard City. Eric (Lynette) Cole of McBride and Maria Seabring of Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one brother, Clifford (Loraine) VanConant of Nashville, Michigan.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Albina; three sisters, five brothers and a three year old son, Rodney Allen.
A funeral service celebrating Nina’s life has been scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 E. Gilson Street, Edmore with Pastor Susan O’Bryan officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Edmore and from 12:30 to 1 p.m. (1/2 hour prior to the service) on Saturday. . A luncheon will be served following the service at the Edmore Full Gospel Church. Interment will take place at Vinewood Cemetery on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nina’s name may be made payable to the Edmore VFW Post 2292.
