Mary L. DeGraw
Mary L. DeGraw, age 94, of Edmore passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Pine River Healthcare Center in Saint Louis. Mary was born on November 17, 1919 in Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Era (Wright) Munson. She was raised in the Stanton area and attended an area country school.
Mary married William C. DeGraw on October 12, 1945. She was employed as a sorter for Wolverine World Wide in Rockford for 21 years. She was a member of the local Ladies VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Berean Baptist Church of Stanton. Mary enjoyed sewing, reading and working word puzzles.
Mary is survived by hers sisters: Roszella (James) Hancock of Sheridan and Mildred Vargo of Edmore and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William in January 24 1997; her parents, Arthur and Era; two brothers, Henry and Howard Munson and two sisters: and Ruth Richardson and Viva Wells.
A funeral to celebrate Mary’s life has been scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 East Gilson Street in Edmore with Pastor Paul Carmichael officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (2 hours prior to the service) also at the Edmore Chapel. Interment will be in Spencer Township Cemetery.
