Martin Joseph Neuberger


Martin Joseph Neuberger, age 84, of Edmore passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alma.  He was born on May 13, 1930 in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Frances (Sheparski) Neuberger.


Martin married the love of his life, Barbara R. Newsted on July 24,1954 in  Onaway, Michigan.  Martin was employed by General Telephone,retiring in 1987.  His hobbies included:  hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening, but especially spending time with this family.


Martin is survived by his wife, Barbara; their children Michael and Kaye Neuberger of Blanchard, Phillip and Jennifer Neuberger of Anchorage, Alaska and Anne Neuberger and Mike King of Vestaburg; 5 grandchildren:  Brandy, Stephanie, Sophia, Michael and Benjamin; 4 great-grandchildren:  Kayla, Courtney, Cassie and Payton; a sister, Grace Evans of Illinois and several extended family members and friends.


Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances; his son, Martin (Marty) Neuberger in 2010 and his son Joseph Paul Neuberger in 2012; three brothers: John, Bill and Joseph Neuberger and one sister,  Marie Kremen.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Martin has been scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 East Gilson Street in Edmore.  The family will receive support from extended family and friends at a visitation scheduled for Wednesday,June 4, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, June 5 (from 10 to 11 a.m.).  Interment will be in Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore.


Memorial contributions in Martin’s honor may be made payable to: American Cancer Society.
