Marion Robert “Bob” McCormick, Jr.


Marion Robert "Bob" McCormick, Jr., age 66 of Vestaburg passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at his home. He was born on May 10, 1948, the son of Marion Robert and Winifred (Kelly) McCormick, Sr. in Alma, Michigan.  Bob graduated from Vestaburg High School with the class of 1966.


Bob worked at General Electric and Hitachi Magnetics for more than 37 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed constructing model clipper ships, water sports, big lake fishing, boating and especially loved his dogs. He was a member of the Vestaburg Church of Christ.


Bob is survived by his parents, Marion and Winifred McCormick, Sr., four sons: Todd (Traci) McCormick of Crystal; Trevor (Michele) McCormick of Battle Creek and Ryan and Corey McCormick both of Otsego; three grandchildren: Travis, Taylor and Gavin McCormick; his brother Tim (Dorrine) McCormick of Vestaburg; niece, Patti McCormick (Casey Beglin) and great niece, Ellery Beglin of Oklahoma and aunt, Jean McCormick of Manistique and several cousins.


Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents and several uncles, aunts and cousins.


A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life has been scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 6055 Howard City Edmore Road in Vestaburg with Pastor George Showers officiating. The family will receive the support of friends and extended family members at a visitation scheduled from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2015, also at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Vestaburg. Interment will be in Richland Cemetery.
