Dorothy Gail Hadley
Dorothy Gail Hadley, age 81 of Six Lakes passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Spectrum Health – Kelsey Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was born in Stanton, Michigan on August 7, 1932 to Jack and Shirley (Avery) Drake. She was raised in the Stanton area and graduated from Stanton High School in 1950.
On October 28, 1950, Dorothy married the love of her life for more than 55 years, Earl Manuel Hadley in Stanton. Dorothy and Earl were members of the First Baptist Church in Edmore. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, playing cards and working on craft projects with her sisters and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grand children.
Dorothy is survived by two sons: Michael (Cheryl) Hadley of Edmore and Randal (Suellen) Hadley of Baldwin; three daughters: Janice (David) Williams of Howard City, Joanne (Art) Williams of Bensenville, Illinois and Linda Hadley of Howard City; 11 grandchildren: Cassandra (Joseph) Davis, Aaron (Nicole) Hadley, Marisa (Trevor) Mumford, Brandt (fiancée Maggie) Hadley, Sarah (Andrew) Nunnenkamp, Rashelle and Nanise Hadley, Paul (Nicole) Williams, Jack (Brittani) Williams, Dan (Holly) Williams and Charity (Matt) Bothwell; 11 great-grandchildren: Abigail Hadley, Brady Davis, Alexander Mumford, Hailey Williams, Savannah Williams, Amanuel Bothwell, Jaxson Williams, Kyleigh Williams, Keegan Williams, Payten Williams and Barrett Nunnenkamp and 5 sisters: Iris (Kenneth) Allen, Geraldine Nemeth, Joyce (John) Christle, Linda (Roger) Waldron and Gayla (Michael) Maxwell and numerous extended family members and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Shirley; her husband, Earl in 2006; a son, Bruce Hadley and three sisters: Irene Nemeth, Shirley Hinton and Edith Clevenger.
A funeral service for Dorothy is scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Edmore First Baptist Church with Randal Hadley, Pastor Aaron Hadley, Reverend Arthur Williams and Pastor Matthew Bothwell officiating. A visitation has been scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Six Lakes. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton.
