Donavere Elaine Silver


Donavere Elaine Silver, age 77, of Edmore went home to be with her Lord on May 15, 2014 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant. She was born on April 22, 1937 on the family farm in Ferris Center, the daughter of Rayburn and Reva (Morrow) Wadle. She was raised in the Vestaburg area and graduated from the Vestaburg High School with the class of 1955.


On May 28, 1935, Donavere married Jiles C. Silver. Donavere and her husband, Jiles owned and operated Silvers Country Market in Edmore, a wholesale retail meat business. She was also employed with the Total Living Center in Mt. Pleasant and Masonic Pathways for several years, retiring in 2002.


Donavere was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edmore and taught Sunday school for several years. Donavere enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to play basketball in high school and especially enjoyed flower gardening, camping and spending time sitting around campfires.


Donavere is survived by two children: Doran and Rhonda Silver of Dafter, Michigan and Holly and Leonard Parcher of Allegan; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Silver of Edmore; five grandchildren: Brian, Jr., Jessica, Philip, Jenna and Betty Silver; her siblings: Kendall and Sally Wadle and Ray and Rhea Wadle, and many nieces, nephews and friends.


Donavere was preceded in death by her parents, Rayburn and Reva; her husband, Jiles in 2008; a son, Brian in 2013; sibling: Carol Pearl; a brother-in-law David Silver and two sister-in-laws: Emmajean Modene and Ruth Hooker.


A funeral service celebrating the life of Donavere will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Edmore with Pastor Aaron Hadley officiating. Friends and extended family members may pay their respects at a visitation scheduled on Friday, May16, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 E. Gilson Street in Edmore and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday (1 hour prior to the service) at the Church. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes.


Memorial contributions in Donavere’s honor may be made to the family, made payable to Doran Silver.
