Corlette “Corky” Colma Phillips

Corlette "Corky" Colma Phillips, age 77, of Six Lakes passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Metron of Greenville.  She was born on July 14, 1937 in Lansing, the daughter of Clare Eugene and Cora Bell (Bacon) Van Nocker.  She was raised in the Lansing area and graduated from the J. W. Sexton High School with the class of 1955. 


Corlette was employed as a Meijer Retail Associate at Meijer’s in Lansing for 30 years.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, decorating her home, antiquing, attending yard sales, walking, baking fantastic pies and spending time with her friends.


Corlette is survived by her children:  Kathy Jo Phillips of Blanchard and Kenda Kay Phillips of Lansing; grandchildren:  Staci Klein, Taylor Tappen, Sydney Tappen; a brother, Clete (Anne) VanNocker and a long time friend, Sandra Sweet of Dimondale, Michigan.


Corlette was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and Cora; a daughter, Kelly Sue Klein and a sister, Clarlyn Sarver.


A Celebration of Life Service has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 23 at 1 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 118 Center Street in Six Lakes with Pastor Robert Cairns officiating.  The family will be receiving the love and support from friends and extended family members at a visitation scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. also at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Six Lakes.  Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes.


The family would like to extend a special thank you to Great Lakes Caring Hospice for the excellent care given to mom and the family.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Animal Rescue Coalition (ARC) of Mecosta County.
