Christine W. Bloss

Christine W. Bloss, age 91, of Vestaburg slipped into the awaiting arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.  Christine was born on May 1, 1923 in AuGres, Michigan, the daughter of Michael and Barbara (Faugl) DeWald.  She was raised in the Twining area and graduated from the Owosso High School.  She continued her education obtaining a 2 year degree in Christian Education at the Owosso Bible College.


As a homemaker, Christine was known as a walking missionary.  She walked everywhere she went, always reading and carrying her Bible, she visited her neighbors, friends and church family, passing out tracks, taking a bouquet of flowers; she was always content and loved people.  She enjoyed gardening and especially loved flowers.  She was a faithful attendee of the Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church.


Christine is survived by her daughter, Ruth Elliott of Vestaburg; two grandchildren:  Michael Elliott of Vestaburg and Ashlee Elliott of Mokena, Illinois and many friends and church family members from the Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church.


Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Barbara; three brothers:  Arthur, Herman and Frank DeWald and two sisters, Susan DeVault and Dorothy Bunyak.


A Celebration of Christine’s life has been scheduled for Monday, December, 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church with Pastor Blake Jones officiating.  The family will receive the love and support of friends and extended family members at a visitation scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m., 2 hours prior to the service.  Interment will be at Evergreen Township Cemetery.


Memorial contributions in Christine’s honor may be made payable to Brigham Funeral Chapel to assist the family with the funeral expenses.

    i have known christine sence i was 8 yrs old,im 30 now. she use to always walk by our house when we were kids. christine always talked about jesus and how we should live for him and she always handed
    us lil church pamplets from the church that contaned lil bible stories. we started to attend church at rock lake accross from where we lived. growing up we eventually moved annd contact was far and
    between, when we did talk tho she was always was so positive and so happy. she always talked about 3 things. jesus, her kids and her grand kids. she was a very positive, spirital,encuraging, loving
    young lady.she. touched so many lives and will be deeply missed

    She use to walk to our Home to always share the Lord Jesus and we will always miss her bright Smile, and gentle touch. And mostly her Prayers.She will always be alive with her Lord!
