Bobette (Kelsey-Pitts) Bacon
Bobette (Kelsey-Pitts) Bacon, age 81, of Lakeview, Michigan went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Spectrum Health – Kelsey Hospital. She was born on April 10, 1933 in Weidman, the daughter of Ada (Sprague) Davis. She was raised in the Mt. Pleasant area and graduated from a Mt. Pleasant area school. She obtained her cosmetology license and worked as a beautician for 10 years in Midland, retiring in 1988.
On February 17, 1977, Bobette married Allan Leroy Bacon in Hope, Michigan. Together they raised five children: Roger (Jean) Pitts of Lake Isabella, Diana Delau of Weidman and Peggy (Gary) Germain of Mt. Pleasant, Karen (Dave) Washburn of Florida, Joann D’Archangel of Florida, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband, Allan; sisters: Betty Hartman and Marge Spencer; brothers: Marty (Judy) Kelsey, Fred (Alberta) Kelsey and Richard (Kay) Kelsey; a brother-in-law, Richard (Carolyn) Bacon; sister in laws: Barbara Heubner, Lois Gatton and Linda (Joe) Keene.
Bobette was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alfred Kelsey.
Bobette was a member of the New Life United Methodist Church and loved the Lord with all of her heart; she enjoyed doing needle work, working puzzles and playing euchre. She loved her husband and spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the New Life United Methodist Church. The family will receive extended family members and friends at a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. (1 hour prior to the service).
