Anna Maude Youngs
Anna Maude Youngs, age 91, of Frankfort, Indiana, formerly of Blanchard, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014. Anna was born on May 27, 1923 in Six Lakes, the daughter of William and Blanche (Morey) Strong. She attended school at the Remus High School.
In 1940, Anna married Ray Youngs. After 54 years of marriage, Ray passed in January of 1995. Anna was employed at General Motors making jet engine blades and prior to her retirement she was employed as an inspector. Anna was a member and formerly a delegate of the Pleasant View United Brethren church in Blanchard, Michigan and served as a missionary to the Navajo Indians in New Mexico for two years after Ray’s death.
Anna is survived by her son, Lyle Youngs; a daughter in law, Diane Smith; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a brother, Melvin Strong of Eaton Rapids.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; two sons, Lorain “Larry” and Billy; a daughter, Oradell Lund; and four sisters: Agnes, Frances, Alta and Rosalyn.
A funeral service for Anna has been scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 E. Gilson Street in Edmore with Pastor Buzz Stone officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. (1 hour prior to the service) at the Chapel. Interment will be at Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna’s name may be made payable to Brigham Funeral Chapel.
