Alvin Lee “Buck” Johnson
Mr. Alvin Lee "Buck" Johnson, 80, passed away September 11, 2014 at Schnepp’s Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in St. Louis, MI. He was born June 5, 1934 in Edmore to the late Albert and Mary (Manzer) Johnson, grew up in Edmore and attended Montabella Schools.
Buck was a self-employed “scrapper” – taking in scrap materials. He enjoyed playing his guitar and watching westerns. He liked going out to restaurants for coffee and pancakes every chance he got.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Teresa; grandchildren: Joshua, Dominique and Maria; brothers: Robert Davis, Jim Johnson, Howard Johnson, Russ Johnson, and Bill Johnson.
Surviving are his children: Melody and Keith Lavery of Green Castle, IN, Jeffery Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI, Timothy Johnson and Sherry Asbury of Edmore, MI, Arlene and Robert Lewis of Owosso, MI, Mellissa and Karl Olsen of Traverse City, MI, Steve Johnson of Florida, Tammy Parish of Six Lakes, MI, and Snow White Lewis and David Bergett of Evart, MI; grandchildren: Alicia, Jennifer, Linda, Natalia, Justin, Zachery, Robert, Cody, Desorie, Felisha, Chris, Joanna, Pete, Jessie, Jenny, Kimberly, Keith, Kevin and Kyle; sister, Inez Cole of Vestaburg, MI.
Funeral services for Buck will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 E. Gilson St., Edmore. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel, Edmore and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. (one hour prior to the service). Interment will be in Vinewood Cemetery, Edmore, MI.
